Futurist Factory

Architectural Representations
Marwan J. Aboudib

In Fall 2013, as part of MIT’s graduate core curriculum in architecture, the studio called for a reinterpretation of the Boston fish factory. The artwork shows plans for a megastructure to be built on top of the existing factory. The design intent was to create a radical approach where human labor is replaced with machinery, similar to the Futurist interpretations of the 1920’s. The design enhances the existing infrastructure of the Boston Fish Pier by adapting the architecture to future growth of the city in both vertical and horizontal directions.
