A first year course at MIT’s graduate program in architecture titled “Geometric Disciplines”; Chess Army is a collection of photograph prints of a chess set created through 3D printing in Fall 2012. In chess there is a hierarchy between each piece, through symbolism and the digital fabrication through printing. Kun Qian focuses the two to create a fluid-like design.
